Searching for Silence
Hello everyone,
Last week i made a lo for the december sketch challenge at the scrapplezierblog.I used some older Websters Pages paper.
When i uploaded the pictures i saw it looks like the picture is not straight on the layout. I made the picture while the lo was hanging on the wall, and the paper wasn't flat yet due to the sprays i used and that's why it looks awry.
I really need to figure out how to make better pictures from my layouts.
This is the sketch i used as inspiration:
I hardly recognised the sketch in the end when i finished my layout. I used the same places for the paper and picture, and used butterflies.
When you are looking for inspiration the scrapplezierblog is a good way to start your scrapping. The designteam uploads a sketch each week. For layouts but also for cards.
Currently i am working on mailart for a swap i am attending. It's my first one and it is really a challenge because the envelope needs to stay flat.
It will take a few weeks before i can show it to you all, cause the swap needs to befinished ofcourse!
I hope you all have a wonderful last day of the year tomorrow!

Cherish ( prima nature garden )
Hello everyone,
It has been a while since i posted here on my blog. It was a busy time for me, as for everyone, with the christmas preparations. But we had a wonderful christmas with our family and we are looking forward to 31 december when we will celebrate the new year with our good friends.
The layout i am showing you today i made two months ago. It's a picture of our godchild Romy who already turned 16 last summer. She is a handfull for her parents but such a creative and sweet girl, and we love her a lot.
The paper i used is the nature garden by prima. I am still loving this papers! I used a lot of techniques on this layout, such as fussycutting, layering, stamping, etc. The two brown and the green flower beneath the picture, i made myself with the tattered floral die by Tim Holz. Here are a few closeups:
With christmas i got some scrapgoodies from my parents as a gift, and that included some beautiful papers from Kaisercraft, so my next project will probably be made with that line. My hands are itching to use the gorgeous designpapers. I am planning to use the december sketch from the Scrapplezier blog that Astrid posted, because it's a real nice one, so, stay tuned!
I hope you all have a nice week!

Project for my son
Hello everyone,
The last week i have been working on a project for my sons room. It was a bit of a struggle because i find it really hard to scrap in a boys style, but in the end it turned out just as i imagined.
The project are three wooden cirkels that i found at work that i altered with the letters from my sons name and a whole lot of embellishments.
I painted the edges of the circels with black acrylic paint and then covered it with different papers from the craftsman line from prima. For the sides of the circels i made my own diamant plade (tranenplaat) with foil tape that i embossed with a cuttlebugfolder and coloured with black alcohol ink. With sandpaper i removed the black paint from the raised areas. You can see the same technique when you look at the frame of the letter. I also put some gesso on the circel with a woodgrain mask. The edges i also distressed with a bit of gesso.
I recently bought the gears die from Tim Holtz and i used it on every circel. I heatembossed the gears with silver embossingpowder. I fussycut some images from the papers wich i treated with a layer of glossyaccents. On the project i used lots of chains, washers, nuts, chickenwire etc to give it boyish feel. (and i covered it all with some gesso). The butterflies are made with the same foil tape technique as the sides buth instead of alcoholink i used black acrylic paint.
I loved working with this line and i have a lot of paper left so i can make some layouts in the future!
The cirkels can stand on their own and they have got a home in the open ikea closet in my sons room.
He loved them! So i am very pleased!
Hope you all have a nice week!
